1. What is the
GLASS discussion list
The GLASS List is an e-mail forum which allows glass
and glass-ceramic researchers from around the world to exchange information
and experiences. It was created to promote contact between researchers and
industry involved in glass-related work. This list is not restricted to any
particular glass field or methodology; anyone is welcome to subscribe.
Topics which may appear on the list include:
- History of
glass
- Novel glasses
and applications
- Methodology
in glass research
- Crystallization
of glasses
- Glass
industry
- Glass
education
- Types of
glass
- Chemistry of
glass
- Structure of
glass
- Properties os
glass
- Announcements
of job openings
Topics which may not appear on this list include:
- Personal
attacks
- Topics unrelated to glass and glass-ceramics
- Address inquiries, unless you have exhausted all other options.
2. How to
subscribe or unsubscribe
To subscribe (or unsubscribe) to the Glass List,
send a short e-mail message to vidros@listas.ufscar.br with the followin text: subscribe vidros your e-mail
example: subscribe vidros
ppcs@iris.ufscar.br
Leave the subject blank !
You will receive an e-mail confirming you have succesfully
subscribed and another one with information and instructions of the list.
3. How to post
to the GLASS list
The list is uncensored; nobody screens the messages
before they are posted. Before you post to the list, be sure that your
message is correct and adheres to the rules. Use lines shorter than 80
characters since many mailers truncate longer lines. Remember that what you
post will be received by many people throughout the world. Be concise, not
everybody has superworkstations connected to a high-speed network. Try to
educate and be educated. In particular, if you ask a question, you should
send a summary of the responses to the list, thus allowing others to learn
along with you.
To post an article/message/question to the whole
list, send it to
vidros@listas.ufscar.br
It will be distributed automatically to all
subscribers.
